oh Baby!

Last weekend, my friend and her 11 week old baby visited for the weekend. She was one cute ass little baby, come on how cute is she? But I still have puppy fever, not baby fever ... but this little girl is so good, it's almost tempting ... almost.

The dogs were funny with her and had never been around a baby so small ... Gyp brought her a toy, realized she couldn't throw, and then ingored her the rest of weekend ... Jane figured out babies = diapers and bottled milk, and pretty much sat near her the whole weekend ... Kaleb just wanted to lick her any chance her could. He would get so excited when ever she would coo or laugh but he was very gentle.

I still would prefer a puppy for me though, it's so much easier to put a puppy in a Kennel than a baby.

She is a VERY cute little girl! But I am with you, puppy fever, 'cause you are right, crating the baby will get you in trouble every time!

At a year old, my grandaughter climbed into Blast's kennel, closed the door & started Woofing! It was very funny.

My friend has 2 dogs and three cats, so bets are, her babies first word will be woof!!

It is easier to put a baby in a kennel than a puppy, actually. But - it's dealing with the looks you're going to get when you do it, LOL!

Babies have 'crates' - we call them playpens. I stuffed all my kids in them. They are like giant x-pens, but soon they learn to escape - at which point you need to switch to duct tape and rope. You can also restrain them by strapping them into their car seat, propping them on the dryer, turning it on and closing the door. But soon they learn how to get out of the restraints and fall off the dryer. *sigh* Opposable thumbs are the culprit.

Positive reinforcement looses it charm when they are about 8 y/o and clicker training is completely ineffective on teenagers. It works on my husband though. Good choice..stick to puppies.
